Community serMinister Simpson photo vice organisations are the backbone of our communities.  Every day, hundreds of staff and volunteers work tirelessly to help West Australians most in need.

So it’s fitting to honour them through our Community Services Excellence Awards, hosted by the State Government and the WA Council of Social Service.

We encourage you to nominate an outstanding organisation or individual who has made a positive difference to people, families or communities.

The State Government, recognising the challenges faced by community services organisations in servicing a growing population, has delivered a $1 billion social services package, including extra funds of $604 million over four years.

We are working collaboratively with a sector that has a unique understanding of what is needed ‘on the ground’.

The Awards celebrate the work of those who dedicate themselves to assisting some of the State’s most vulnerable people, often expecting little in return.

Finalists and winners will be acknowledged at a ceremony held in May in conjunction with the 2014 WACOSS conference, which will involve the broadest gathering of community service representatives in the State.

We look forward to celebrating the outstanding achievements of WA’s vibrant community services sector.
