The State Budget has such a strong impact on what our sector can deliver — from frontline services to long‑term community wellbeing. If you want to understand what the 2026–27 State Budget really means for people on low incomes, for housing, for community services and for the organisations holding communities together, this is the one briefing you cannot miss.
The WA State Budget will be handed down on Thursday 7 May 2026.
On Monday 11 May, WACOSS will hold a Budget Briefing Webinar in partnership with Shelter WA, with special guests from the WA Department of Treasury and Finance. and Bankwest Curtin Economics Centre.
Assistant Under Treasurer Lisa Bednarczyk will provide a clear, accessible overview of the budget’s priorities, pressures and implications for our sector — and importantly, you’ll have the chance to ask her questions.
WACOSS and Shelter WA will also share early analysis and insights from our fact sheets, highlighting what the budget means for those most impacted by cost‑of‑living pressures and service gaps.
We’re deliberately leaving plenty of time for a Q&A, so you can raise the issues that matter most to your organisation, your clients and your community.
This is a free webinar for WACOSS members and Shelter WA members but is open for anyone to join.
Cost for non-members is $40 per person (paid during checkout).
