This two-hour workshop will provide local community groups and individuals with hands-on experience of what is involved in effective campaigns to achieve their aims. It will also demonstrate how planning a campaign in advance can get better results and shows how social media can be used to gather support.
It includes advice on how to make your case to decision-makers, politicians, local government and the public, as well as practical exercises on letter-writing and media releases.
Participants will have the opportunity to use their own issues as the basis for the exercises and will receive a copy of the new WACOSS Advocacy Toolkit which will further support their future advocacy.
