Emerging Issues Forum

10 April 2018 @ 2:00 pm - 4:30 pm

Emerging Issues is the principal strategic forum for the Western Australian Council of Social Service.

Held annually, the forum provides analysis to inform the service and strategic planning needs of the executives and Boards of community service providers into the future.

Emerging Issues is an environmental scan, focusing on the future of the changing social, economic, and political contexts. It offers the sector the most current and relevant information on trends that are constantly changing, in order for them to address the most pressing needs of people facing disadvantage and those placed in vulnerable positions, to enable them the opportunity to succeed and prosper.

Join us at the Emerging Issues event, and as an expert panel leads an interactive discussion, give yourself the opportunity to share issues of concern, and explore the analysis of the emerging strategic context for your clients, services, staff, and networks.

2018 Emerging Issues panel:

  • Karen Middleton, Chief Political Correspondent, The Saturday Paper
  • Rebecca Cassells, Principal Research Fellow, Bankwest Curtin Economics Centre (BCEC)
  • Kasy Chambers, Executive Director, Anglicare Australia
  • Chris Twomey, Research and Policy Development Leader, WACOSS

Emerging Issues Survey

In the lead up to the Emerging Issues Forum, WACOSS is asking for advice from the sector, in order to contribute to our scan and analysis of the most urgent issues presenting to community services.

Responses to the survey will help inform our work for the year, the development of new policy, direction, and expert advice – voice on the ground in the sector.
