Join us online for the launch of the Scoping Study into Reducing Gambling-Related Harm in WA.
There is a common belief that gambling harm is low in WA because electronic gaming machines are restricted to the casino. However, this can create a false sense of security. Gambling harm in WA is real, growing, and increasingly shaped by online gambling, pervasive advertising, sports betting, and young people’s exposure to gaming and digital platforms.
This webinar will unpack what is happening in our state and why it matters.
Join us to gain a clearer understanding of how the gambling industry operates, the rise of online gambling, the impacts on individuals, families, and communities, gaming disorder, and current and future approaches to supporting early action and addressing harmful online use. We will also launch the Reducing Gambling Related Harm in WA Scoping Study, highlighting key findings and opportunities to respond more effectively to gambling harm in WA.
Who should attend?
Anyone wanting a clearer picture of gambling and gaming harm in WA, including community workers, health professionals, policy officers, researchers, and advocates.
