In partnership with Curtin University, the Department of Health, and the Public Health Advocacy Institute, WACOSS delivered two webinars about the Food Stress Index and the COVID-19 and Food Relief Prioritisation.

Webinar 1: Connecting to secure healthy food for all West Australians: Food Stress Index – A world first 

In this webinar, learn about Western Australia’s strategic response to food relief and join us to address the challenge of food insecurity. The WA Food Stress Index is a unique innovation that has underpinned a major part of our approach. This is your opportunity to find out how the Food Stress Index can pinpoint the potential of food stress in households in specific neighborhoods and regional areas works.

Webinar 2: Connecting to secure healthy food for all West Australians: COVID-19 and Food Relief Prioritisation

This is the second part of a two part series on the collaborative approach taken by business, government, universities and not-for-profits, to develop the WA Food Relief Framework. The webinar will describe how the Food Stress Index was used to assist with food relief prioritisation during COVID-19. We will show in detail how the tool can be used to quantify the types and amounts of food for food relief and disaster management, and share some of the lessons learned to ensure of that safe and nutritious food is available for people who need it.
