WACOSS are funded by Lotterywest to deliver the Community Relief and Resilience Program (CRR Program). The CRR Program provides policy representation and sector support to Western Australia’s emergency relief sector (referred to as community relief).
Community relief and resilience services support individuals and families in Western Australia experiencing poverty or financial stress by providing food, material aid, financial relief and referrals to other support services. There are more than 300 agencies in WA providing this type of assistance. Providers range from small volunteer run services to large multi-program organisations.
The Program aims to:
- Influence government thinking and support systemic change relating to crisis and emergency relief,
- Consolidate strong relationships and information sharing processes,
- Build a shared understanding of the WA service system,
- Improve sector capability and capacity to provide quality support, and
- Enhance service funding and sector sustainability.
The CRR Program network includes a diverse range of community service organisations from across Western Australia.
Sector Support
Through the CRR Program we provide free activities and resources to support the network of community relief organisations across Western Australia. These activities are designed to improve the effectiveness of community relief services so they can meet the needs of individuals and families accessing support.
WA Connect
WA Connect is an online directory of community services in WA. The platform assists community members to search for services in their location and access important information in a single place; making it easier for people to get help and for services to work together.
